Hot Girls Wanted

I recently watched a documentary produced by Rashida Jones
on Netflix.
Not to be judgy, but WTF?
Is porn the new black?
Are girls (not women - girls - because that's what porn viewers want - girls or women who look like girls) actually saying to themselves, "when I grow up I want to be a porn star"?
Yes, it seems so.
A hundred plus years ago women in the acting profession were looked down upon as sort of fallen women;
not the type you bring home to mother.
That mindset seems ridiculous now days.
Am I a prude or will porn stars
(I use that term loosley because very few become actual stars),
someday be the norm? Don't answer that.
Here's my problem (one of my problems) with porn:
It's kind of the same problem I had with the documentary Kink, which is basically kink + porn.
It's an industry that chews people up and spits them out.
Someone is making significant money, but it's not the actors.
And these girls need to up their game to stay in the game.
They go from softcore to hardcore.
Degredation. Humiliation.
Violence.
Violence against women. Usually by men.
Facial abuse.
Gangbang.
Rape or psuedo-rape.
The shelf life of a porn actress is typically short-lived.
But I imagine it lives with the girls forever.
That is all.

Tis the Season!

I love this story, and in my opinion, it's one of the cleverest covers (Cover art by Fiona Jayde)
ever designed for me. The couple are dead on how I pictured them. The lens is pure genius. And the Christmas bow is a nice touch.

Newly engaged, Chantal and Monty have been hired as caterers for Layton Industries annual Christmas party held at the Layton’s penthouse apartment. The problem is Steve and Alexa Layton’s plane has been grounded due to snow.
Both couples struggle with the phase they are at in their respective relationships. Chantal and Monty are striving to find a balance between work and home in a new business and upcoming marriage. They’re divided by a difference in work ethic, religion and values, her coming from a traditional Mexican family, while Monty is Jewish. With very little money, they are living on love.
Steve and Alexa have grown apart during their marriage, finding it difficult to reconnect. They are financially secure, but the pursuit of financial freedom along with the accompanying responsibilities has caused their relationship and sex life to fizzle. Steve wants to start a family, but Alexa isn’t so sure they are ready.
Can a sexy kitchen, a box of produce and a security system help?

Research, Research, Research

If you've read my erotic romances and/or erotica, you'd probably find them to be on the mild side. I don't routinely have my hero tie up my heroine and flog her. I'm all about the playful spanking though, like in Rub Me The Right Way.

Why don't I write the hardcore sex with all the bells & whistles, cuffs & paddles? Because I don't "get" it. In my quest to understand the appeal of BDSM, I sat down to watch the documentary, KINK on Netflix (my go-to resource for information, education, and entertainment) about kink.com, a fetish website.

What's my take on the documentary? The people behind the scenes were 100% on board with providing kink to the masses, claiming the "models" were kinksters who get paid for doing what they love. What could be better than that? The models (not actors) supposedly had full disclosure and were in control of the scenes. A win win for everyone.

However, interviews with the models...were not as convincing...to me. I saw ambivalence, and in some cases fear upon hearing what might be expected of them. One "model" said something to the effect that careers in the kink industry spanned about two years before a model was chewed up and spit out. I don't doubt it. This is just my opinion, but having your circulation inhibited, as well as repeated bruising, can't be good for you (although, I'm sure some would argue that I'm way off base and uninformed - they'd be right). Did it turn me on? No. Am i going to write BDSM? Probably not. I just don't get it.

Candy Cane Kink Giveaway Hop!

Welcome to the next stop on the Candy Cane Kink Giveaway Hop!  I'm Kelli. I write smexy stories for Ellora's Cave and Decadent Publishing. Poke around and get to know me.

I'm giving away an ecopy of my kinky Christmas story, Holiday Hangover to one lucky random commenter. Here is the naughty blurb:
All work and no play has left Jane a very dull girl indeed. When she’s not working her day job, she’s spending any free time toiling for the benefit of her neighbors as the president of her condo association. At the annual holiday party, her Secret Santa gives her a basket full of naughty sex toys, someone’s inappropriate joke at her expense. Next thing Jane knows, she’s waking up in a strange bed with very little memory of the night before.

Sprawled across red satin sheets with a pounding headache and throbbing private parts, Jane struggles to recall whose bed she’s in before her new bed buddy finishes showering. Bits and pieces of memory come back to her, but the recollections don’t comfort, only confound her. It seems she’s going to have a merrier Christmas than she was anticipating.

Please tell me your favorite-decadent-once-a-year-to-die-for holiday treat (can be food, drink or activity), and don't forget to leave me your email address. Please share the love and check out the other kinky blogs. Have fun hopping.

KINK IS THE NEW BLACK

When I began writing, I glossed over the love scenes, imagining my mother one day reading my smut. I didn’t slam the bedroom door shut, but neither did I go into detail.

Slowly I dug deeper, literally and figuratively. I found my comfort zone and swore to my family I relied mostly on my imagination to conjure up the naughty (which wasn’t very naughty by anyone’s standards since I wrote for Cerridwen Press). Ellora’s Cave would ask for submissions on this, that or the other and I couldn’t go there until…

(Cue choir of angels singing.) Ellora’s Cave started their Branded line of erotic romance.
