Have I Mentioned Lately....?

...that Hair of the Dog is a National Excellence in Romance Fiction Awards WINNER! Yes, winner.

Blurb

When Grant, mayor of Mystic Springs, asks Ivy to run the Mystic Springs resort, she’s so thrilled, she accepts the job without so much as visiting the town first. Then she arrives and meets Grant—and her goals change. She got her dream job, and now she wants Grant…preferably at her mercy in the bedroom.

Grant’s inner animal is desperate to take Ivy. And he’s not joking about the “animal” part—Grant and most of the Mystic Springs residents are shifters. The spring is more than a landmark, it’s the touchstone that grounds their powers and keeps them on the human side of the shifter spectrum. But the spring is running dry…

The townspeople are convinced Ivy is the woman who was prophesied to rejuvenate the spring. Local legend is rife with rumors of sex rites that might help, and Grant’s only too happy to give them a go. He just has to convince Ivy that he’s the man—er, wolf?—for her.

Naughty New Year's Bloghop

Welcome to the next stop on the Naughty New Years Bloghop. I'm Kelli Scott and I write naughty stories for Ellora's Cave and Decadent Publishing. Feel free to explore. Read a few blurbs and excerpts while you're here.

Another year has come and gone and it's true what they say, the older you get, the faster time seems to go by. I don't normally participate in New Year's resolutions, but I am going to try out the 3 Day Military Diet. Why? Because I want to be thinner, healthier (and they claim this diet is safe) and I want to exercise as well. Lofty ambitions. Also my clothes don't fit right and I'm too cheap to go out shopping for new ones. Why this diet? I need to be told exactly what and how much to eat or I will cheat. And I figure I can do anything for 3 little ol' days. I'm not sure if I'll sign on for 3 more days or 3 more after that. We'll see.

Other than my personal resolution of losing weight and getting healthier, I need a professional resolution as well. I published 2 books in 2011 and 8 in 2012. I have 3 so far slated for 2013. I'm not sure if I can muster the time or energy to beat my 2012 numbers and I'm not good at setting goals (maybe goal setting should be my 2013 goal).

How 'bout you? New Year's resolution? Wishes, dreams or goals?

Leave me a comment with your email address and I'll enter you in a drawing for an ecopy of Blind Passion. Here is the blurb:

Nicole Adkins’ silly crush on her neighbor is slowly starting to resemble an obsession. After months of watching him from afar, she’s resorted to orchestrating accidental elevator encounters and bumbling through rehearsed conversations that go terribly wrong.

Salvatore Lopez is legally blind. To him, Nicki is a pleasant-smelling, sexy-sounding blur in a rotating rainbow of different-colored clothes. He’s intrigued, but fears he’s nothing more to her than a charity case.

But Sal’s blindness means Nicki can watch him risk-free from her apartment and fantasize about sensual encounters. Most of all, she can pretend he’s watching from his apartment as she pleasures herself. He’s the perfect man to indulge all her dark fantasies. If he regains his sight, it could be the beginning of a beautiful romance—or the end.

Badlib Blog Hop

Badlibs Story 1
Damian stalked across the bedroom floor, his powerful stride making Libby weak-kneed. With his neck veins bulging, his impressively commanding bearing made her breasts swell. He was so formidable that she felt fragile in comparison. His dark eyes smoldered with need.
“Get over here, Libby. I want to kiss your ankles, and can’t stop myself from thinking about nibbling on your toes.” He dropped to his knees suddenly by the bed, making her heart beat erratically.
“Oh, Damian. Be gentle with me. I haven’t had a full service pedicure in so long.” Libby moved closer and sat on the bed.  Her eyes slid closed and her head fell back.
His lips touched her thigh and drew a whimper from her lips. A calloused hand stroked her ankle making her dainty feet arch. With two fingers, he entered her stilettos, slipping them off.  She couldn’t stop a squeak from escaping her throat when the shoe hit the floor.
“Lay back, Libby. Let me rub your instep.” She did, and he did. “I want you hotter than Tabasco before I slide my tongue in your pussy.” He was grinning mischievously when she opened her eyes.
She moaned, nodding. She thrust her hips up and groaned deep in her throat. “Anything you want, Damian. I need to feel your rough stubble so badly I can barely stand it.”
A shiver skated down her backbone at the feel of his tongue invading her. Sensations like a lightning storm moved through her. She could feel the building pressure start with a thick flood in her belly. She looked into his face and saw determined eyes glistening with emotion staring back. His talented lips pressed deeply into her cunt. She could feel his majestic nose press and rub against her clit. His increased speed caused her head to thrash against the mattress. A sound, like a purring kitten vibrated in her chest. She knew she was going to come. All she needed was his fingers stroking her savagely.
With a final primal scream she tumbled off into bliss. Her legs tensed, her nipples tightened and her eyes closed on the feeling of his digits sinking deep into her.
And that's for all you gals (and guys) who like a little foot play. I admit I got carried away with my badlib, taking some creative liberties. So sue me. Check out the other authors Badlibs here.

Contest: I'll make it super easy. Leave me a comment between 8/10 and 8/14 for a random chance to win an ebook of your choice from my backlist (Stormy Wedding, Drive-In, Hair of the Dog or Passion Pill). I've never said that before - my backlist - because suddenly I have a backlist, if you can call four books a backlist and I can. If you have a problem leaving a comment or don't want to leave your email, drop me an email to enter: kelliscottbooks@aol.com

Beanpot the Sequel

The results are in.
And it's official.
I can't decide which story I love the most, Stormy Wedding or Drive-In, and the judges in the 2012 Readers Choice Beanpot couldn't either. I tied myself for second place. I'll kick my butt next year. Who won the novella category? Painted in Pleasure by Dena de Paulo. Great title. Great name. I think the cover was awsome too. Congrats to all the winners and finalists. It really was an honor to be nominated.

BEANPOT

I'm a finalist! Wait! I'm a double finalist in the New England RWA Reader's Choice Beanpot (ought to be Jackpot) contest in the novella category. Not the erotic novella category - the novella category. I write good stories. Good stories with hot, steamy, sizzling sex.
As writers, we pour our hearts into our characters, send them out into the world and hope they are appreciated. They are. Both of 'em.
The competition is fierce, so wish me luck.

EPIC NEWS

Much to my surprise, and yours too perhaps, Stormy Wedding is a finalist in the Epic contest. What is the Epic contest? Uh? Electronic Publishing Industry Coalition. I'm not a member, but I think they probably fight for our right for a little respect in the industry.
I'm excited and honored and giddy. I'm up against some other awsome authors from Ellora's Cave as well as Carina, Loose ID, and TWRP. I'm especially honored because Stormy Wedding is my first erotic story. Not that I'm in an erotic category. I'm in the Novella category.

So please wish me luck, although I feel like I've already won (not actually won, but I feel honored just to be a finalist). And I can't wait for the day when digital publishing, as well as erotic romance will be able to compete on an even playing field with print books and traditional romance (RWA I'm talking to you).
