Horny Hump Day!

Horny Hump Day! What a great idea!

My excerpt is from my debut erotic (which still holds a special place in my heart and I think it is one of my favorite covers) Stormy Wedding. Her is the blurb:
Rachel McAllister tried to dissuade Rory Callahan’s interest, she’d been hurt by love too many times before, but Rory had been as relentless as a dog after a bone. She gave in, but made one thing perfectly clear from the start—no sex until she said, “I do.” If Rachel knew one thing about men, it was that you gave them what they wanted—sex—and they’d be out the door before the sun came up. Rory has passed all her tests and jumped through her hoops to prove his love. They’re ready to say, “I do”, and Rachel’s ready to erase any of Rory’s lingering regrets about waiting to have sex.
Rory fell head over heels for Rachel at first sight. Getting her to date him was another matter altogether. He’d followed all her rules and has barely complained about her strict moral code. Now he’s going to marry her for better or worse. He’s about to find out his goody-two-shoes bride-to-be is a fiery vixen who’s too hot to handle.

Here's the set up...Our bride, Rachel, is alone in her hotel room the night before the wedding. She's rumaging through her Naughty Nuptuals bridal shower gifts, anticipating the honeymoon night.

Excerpt:
Ashley’s gift, a vibrator that laughed at all other vibrators. It was a prank, a joke. A big joke.

Something New Something Naughty Blog Hop

I love the title of this blog hop. Something New Something Naughty Blog Hop. It was like divine intervention. I knew I had to join. Even though the New is about the New Year, it reminded me of something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue, which reminded me of weddings.

Am I losing you? Stay with me. Weddings made me think of my 2011 debut erotic novella, Stormy Wedding. It's not new, but it is naughty. And I never get tired of looking at the cover.

Like the old saying goes, everything old is new again, and that's the case with Stormy Wedding. It has recently been released in Ellora's Cave Branded line print anthology, Wedded Bliss (also a great cover).

What do you think of anthologies? Is it a great way to discover new authors or favorite reading subjects or not????? Leave me a comment (with your email address) and I will enter you in a random drawing for a print copy of Wedded Bliss (US only).

Book Description:

Never Gets Old

My first erotic story was published in January of 2011. Stormy Wedding has gone on to win awards and get great reviews. But it's not over yet. Romance After Dark has just reviewed Stormy Wedding and liked it. Check it out.

And the reviewer has a certain flair of her own when it comes to writing. "The point of this novella is not developing meaningful characters or asking big questions of life. The point is SEX, and Stormy Wedding delivers. Kelli Scott writes some steamy sex scenes, and when Rory and Rachel rock the headboard, they do it with great passion."

And she thinks my writing is HOT. "The sex is fairly standard fare – no BDSM or anal, although both are somewhat addressed – but there is a lot of oral. A LOT. Not that I’m complaining, because it’s HOT oral sex. All of the sex here is hot."

If you haven't read Stormy Wedding and you prefer to read print books, you can now purchase Wedded Bliss, an anthology of Branded line stories from several Ellora's Cave authors.

Sex & Marriage

It's coming here. Wedded Bliss!

Subjugated by Jaid Black

Shannon Smith thinks her marriage to the intense, brooding Hani bin Nasser is one of convenience, but her mysterious Saudi husband has other plans.

Getting Naughty by Kristin Daniels

Tara North is tired of her husband’s workaholic tendencies, tired of not being a priority. And very tired of the lack of action in their bedroom. So she sits in the company parking lot, impatiently waiting for his coworkers to vacate the building. Why? To seduce her husband, of course.
Tara’s going to get their sex life back on the fast track to Blissville. As she strips for him, Tara issues a challenge—how many times can Jared make her come before the cleaning crew reaches his office?
There’s only one way to find out. It’s time for Jared to really get to work.
Stormy Wedding by Kelli Scott

Rachel McAllister tried to dissuade Rory Callahan’s interest, she’d been hurt by love too many times before, but Rory had been as relentless as a dog after a bone. Now he’s going to marry her for better or worse. He’s about to find out his goody-two-shoes bride-to-be is a fiery vixen who’s too hot to handle.

Going All In by Sky Robinson

When Colin Fredrickson runs into the girl he loved and lost ten years ago, he knows he has to have her back. She says she won’t have sex until after marriage. So Colin does the only thing that will get Liberty in his bed and back in his life for good—he goes all in.
Liberty James is in Vegas for a bachelorette party when she runs into her high school flame in the casino bar. She had never stopped loving Colin, and now he proposes marriage to show her just how serious he is. Her body burns for Colin and she says yes to a quickie Vegas marriage. Things turn especially hot when it’s time to consummate the marriage—can they even wait until they get back to the honeymoon suite?

Down to business by Dena Garson

Leigh and John Templeton have plans for the upcoming weekend. Unfortunately, looming deadlines may prevent John from being able to get away. In particular, one very long and dull contract review.
When Leigh delivers dinner to John at his office, she makes him a deal to spice up the contract review process—for every page he completes, she’ll remove an item of clothing…until she’s naked and waiting for him to claim his reward.

Award Winning Smut

I know I've already tooted my own horn on Facebook and Twitter, but I want to make it official. I write award winning smut. First the EPICs (finalist), then the Beanpot (2nd plc) and now the IDA or International Digital Awards (finalist) with Stormy Wedding.

Here's a blurb: Rachel McAllister tried to dissuade Rory Callahan’s interest, she’d been hurt by love too many times before, but Rory had been as relentless as a dog after a bone. She gave in, but made one thing perfectly clear from the start—no sex until she said, “I do.” If Rachel knew one thing about men, it was that you gave them what they wanted—sex—and they’d be out the door before the sun came up. Beanpot the Sequel

The results are in.
And it's official.
I can't decide which story I love the most, Stormy Wedding or Drive-In, and the judges in the 2012 Readers Choice Beanpot couldn't either. I tied myself for second place. I'll kick my butt next year. Who won the novella category? Painted in Pleasure by Dena de Paulo. Great title. Great name. I think the cover was awsome too. Congrats to all the winners and finalists. It really was an honor to be nominated.

BEANPOT

I'm a finalist! Wait! I'm a double finalist in the New England RWA Reader's Choice Beanpot (ought to be Jackpot) contest in the novella category. Not the erotic novella category - the novella category. I write good stories. Good stories with hot, steamy, sizzling sex.
As writers, we pour our hearts into our characters, send them out into the world and hope they are appreciated. They are. Both of 'em.
The competition is fierce, so wish me luck.

Just Erotic Romance Reviews

I know I'm not the queen of promo, but I did do an interview for Just Erotic Romance Reviews JERR
In the interview I chat about my EPIC finalist and debut novella, Stormy Wedding. And my latest release, Drive-In.
And of course my next release, now slated for April/May time frame, Hair of the Dog.
Check it out.

EPIC NEWS

Much to my surprise, and yours too perhaps, Stormy Wedding is a finalist in the Epic contest. What is the Epic contest? Uh? Electronic Publishing Industry Coalition. I'm not a member, but I think they probably fight for our right for a little respect in the industry.
I'm excited and honored and giddy. I'm up against some other awsome authors from Ellora's Cave as well as Carina, Loose ID, and TWRP. I'm especially honored because Stormy Wedding is my first erotic story. Not that I'm in an erotic category. I'm in the Novella category.

So please wish me luck, although I feel like I've already won (not actually won, but I feel honored just to be a finalist). And I can't wait for the day when digital publishing, as well as erotic romance will be able to compete on an even playing field with print books and traditional romance (RWA I'm talking to you).

Three's Company or is it a Party?

Okay, so I was on Facebook the other day. Shocking! I know, right? Someone posted a seriously sexy hot but tasteful M/F/M photo. Comments ensued, as they always do. One comment in particular pondered why some male cover models refuse to pose for M/F/M or M/M/F or F/M/M (honestly, I don’t know the difference) covers. “It’s just a modeling job.” Or is it?

Many actors and actresses refuse to film nude scenes for various reasons. Just because I’m a writer doesn’t mean I’ll write anything. I write what interests me. And then I hope others will enjoy it also. I consider my career, as well, when I write a story. I am putting my name on the cyber cover, after all. You know, not my real name, but my psuedo name.

The commenter went on to say something to the effect of “We won’t assume he’s interested in men simply because he poses with one.” Won’t we? I see a model on a cover and if done well, my eyes will tell my brain the couple on the cover is in love, or at the very least, in lust.

I guess my point is, every one has to choose for themselves what they will and won’t do—personally, professionally and spiritually. And not be judged harshly for it. Am I right or am I wrong?

KINK IS THE NEW BLACK

When I began writing, I glossed over the love scenes, imagining my mother one day reading my smut. I didn’t slam the bedroom door shut, but neither did I go into detail.

Slowly I dug deeper, literally and figuratively. I found my comfort zone and swore to my family I relied mostly on my imagination to conjure up the naughty (which wasn’t very naughty by anyone’s standards since I wrote for Cerridwen Press). Ellora’s Cave would ask for submissions on this, that or the other and I couldn’t go there until…

(Cue choir of angels singing.) Ellora’s Cave started their Branded line of erotic romance.

EROMCOM

What’s Eromcom? It might be a little something I made up myself. So sue me.

I like to laugh. Tears of a clown. As I wrote the other day in a manuscript—I’ll paraphrase—the ability to laugh has gotten me through some not so freakin’ funny chapters in my life.

But does comedy have any business rubbing up against erotic like a kitty in heat?

You May Kiss The Bride

You may kiss the bride.

My romance novella, Stormy Wedding, follows a couple on their wedding day. They share a sweet kiss on the veranda of their wedding venue with the Pacific Ocean as the backdrop. But all these two have been doing since they met is kiss. A lot. Nothing more.

They’ve saved the best for last, although their pre-wedding encounters become a bit heated. Here’s a little snippet of a sweet kiss versus a steamy one:

Sweet kiss.

WHO ARE YOU?

You’re probably wondering who Kelli Scott is.

Kelli Scott, a former airline employee, spent her career globetrotting the world, leaving broken hearts and empty champagne flutes in every port (airport). Turning over a new leaf, she started her own now-defunct religion, also revolving around champagne. Currently a recluse living on a mountaintop in the Appalachians, she enjoys rock gardening, taxidermy and writing her semi-autobiographical memoirs.

BRANDED

The concept for Stormy Wedding was simple. Ellora’s Cave put a shout out about their new Branded line of erotic stories. Branded is a line of erotic tales set within the confines of a marriage. One of my pet peeves about romance is that the story ends when the marriage begins. And that is where I began my story…at the end…with the wedding.

Guillermo

For some reason, the questions I get most often are about my research assistant, Guillermo. It’s a live-in position, because I write day and night. He’s been with me for years and feels like part of the family.

He’s not much to look at, but he’s smart as a whip. He follows instructions very well. Guillermo does work outside the home because his position doesn’t pay well, but I offer an attractive benefit package.
